Mann Elementary School Teacher Ms. Roxanne O’Rourke has been named the Teacher of the Year for the Glendale Unified School District in recognition of her excellence in teaching and her commitment to the students and families she serves. Ms. O’Rourke and educators from across the region were recognized at the Teachers of the Year Celebration hosted by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE).

Shant Sahakian is an Elected Member and Past President of the Glendale Unified School District Board of Education representing Area D. He was elected to his first term in April 2017, becoming the youngest School Board Member and first Millennial elected in Glendale history. He is a lifelong resident of Glendale, proud product of Glendale public schools, and proud GUSD parent with deep roots in the community. He is a longtime community leader who has championed Glendale’s youth, advocated for the underserved, and served the community through a distinguished record of public service.
